Welcome to Salty Raccoon Ranch! I am Samantha, the Owner, Trainer, and Breeder behind this endeavor nestled in the picturesque hills of Hillsboro, Indiana. My journey into the world of dog training and breeding is a tale of passion and dedication. From a young age, my love for animals was evident. I embarked on my path by showing and training dogs and horses in 4H, starting at the age of 9. By 14, I was professionally showing Arabian Horses in adult classes across the USA, and by 16, I had begun breeding top-quality Arabian Horses, show livestock and competitive sporting dogs. Throughout my life, German Shepherds have been constant companions. Their loyalty, love, and intelligence have always amazed me. I take great joy in training and showcasing our German Shepherds in various competitions, appreciating the bond they bring to our family. A turning point in my journey was sparked by personal circumstances. My daughter, facing Type One Diabetes and other medical challenges, inspired me to delve into training Service Dogs. The quest for a Diabetic Alert Dog led me on a mission to ensure their safety and well-being. After extensive research, consultations, and planning, Zapphire Eclipse Von Schone Stadt emerged as the beacon of hope. She not only excelled as a rock star Diabetic Alert Service Dog but also became the cornerstone of our breeding program.
